This is an important phone number. Most (not all) of the shelters in town will tell you that you need to be referred by the Housing Resource Center, (HRC) so you can save yourself some time by calling the above number or visiting their downtown location first. (800 North Tucker.) The Housing Resource Center is operated by Catholic Charities and is the region's most comprehensive counseling organization. Services include financial counseling.

CHURCH PANTRIES
Many churches offer hot meals and sandwiches, operate food pantries and provide other services through parishes located throughout the city. To find the location nearest you, call the referral hotline: 314/531-7837.
