Provides free employment services to ex-offenders and persons who have difficulty finding and maintaining employment, and to St. Louis area businesses who are seeking qualified job applicants. Services include outreach/recruitment, assessment, employment readiness training, on-site education, individual case management, job development, job placement, job retention, temp to direct hire, managed staffing services, career development, and follow-up services.
It is a requirement of the program that you attend a three day World of Work seminar after completing orientation. Orientation sessions are held every Friday at 12:30 PM. Both orientation and the World of Work seminar are held at 2838 Market Street, just west of Jefferson.

This is a new organization designed to assist ex-offenders in the re-entry process. ORIENTATION EVERY THURSDAY AT 8:45 AM, then job-readiness training. GED, literacy, transportation, photo ID, federal bonding, legal services, clothing and housing assistance, mentoring. Call them for more information about the program, their computer lab and medical screening. A project of SLATE, the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment.

Up to a year of supportive housing for men who can work
full time, have a reason to return to the St. Louis area, and are without community support.
IMPORTANT: The best chance of being accepted to this program is to contract them at least 6 months before your release date.
Participant Must:
1) Meet criteria of low income and recent prison release.
2) Agree to release of information.
3) Regularly participate in support groups.
4) Be willing to wait till rental unit is found and to take the time needed to complete move into unit
5) Be willing to accept rental unit and stay for one year.
6) Pays rent on an increasing scale (first 90 days free rent.)
7) Committed to find gainful, regular employment.
8) Follow through on job and personal plans.
9) Use salary/own funds for needs other than rent.
10) Accept limited withdrawal on accounts for one year.
11) Agree to requirements of parole officers and Release to Rent co-ordinator for support programs
12) If a sex offender, provides notifications as required.
13) Willing to help other Release to Rent participants.

Part of a comprehensive program to help individuals and families move from crisis to stability to self-sufficiency. There are two transitional housing facilities:
Courtois House. All women are participants in the organization’s mentoring program and other programs. Residents may stay up to one year.
Schirmer House, which opened in 2007, provides housing for 30 women who are fulfilling state-mandated supervision requirement. It is partially funded by Missouri Department of Corrections and has 4 full time employees, a probation officer, and a 24-hour security team. Women can stay up to 120 days and then are transferred to a less restrictive facility or allowed to go home.

A Christian-based 14-month residential recovery program for men of all ages that works wth the Hillsboro probation office when needed. Minimal entry fee; the program is free to participants and includes GED instruction, job training, housing, counseling, etc.

This is a program that is conducted inside several prisons to ready participants for life after release. There is an 80-hour class that focuses on workforce readiness.
